For our Arduino programming project my partner and I had our board play Mamma Mia on the buzzer, have an LED light flash to the song's beats, and have a message board that says Mamma Mia.
Here is a circuit diagram for our project:
Here is the code that we programmed:
Concepts:
Circuit: a loop of conductive material from the positive to negative sides of a battery
Parallel circuit: when the current flows and splits between 2 or more paths
Series circuit: when the current flows through one path
Resistance: the amount of current that has decreased
Voltage: potential energy drop during a part of a circuit
Current: the movement of charge and flow of electricity
Formula for current: I=VR

This project was really fun, I never realized that I like computer programming and coding and circuits. I wasn't experienced at all going into the project but through the packets and lessons I learned a lot about the way circuits and electricity work. I learned that there are parallel and series circuits. I also learned that in coding the computer registers words as certain numbers. Something that went well during the project was that my partner and I really focused on understanding the code rather than getting through all the circuits as soon as possible. Because of that when we did get to the circuit building part we had a much better understanding of what to do than we would have had if we hadn't taken time to play with the code. A disadvantage to this strategy was that at the end we weren't able to add everything to the final project that we originally intended to. Something I did well during the project was I stayed focused most of the time which is hard because I get distracted really easily. Another thing was I feel like I helped with the project and really contributed to the final product more so than in previous projects. One thing I could've done better would be to stay completely off my phone during class. Another thing I could've done better would be to encourage my partner to let some thing be good but not perfect so we would have been able to do more. However, I think the final product we created was lacking some of the parts that we wanted to be there, however the parts that were there were exactly as we wanted. This project has been a great experience and I hope to apply the knowledge I've gained throughout this project in the future.
