Hybrid Car
In our STEM class we were asked by Hyundai to create an alternative powered car. We couldn't use chemical energy, gasoline, or batteries to power our car. The car also had to travel 5 meters and only 5 meters. After some research on different types of energies and cars we decided to use elastic energy and make a rubber band powered car. We brainstormed for 1 day, built for 3 days, and tested and tweaked on the last day. We then spent our remaining time working on our PowerPoint Presentation below and decorating our car. Our car was powered by a rubber band attached to the front of the car and connected to the back axle. We then wound up the rubber band around the axle and let it go, the rubber band unraveled causing the axle to spin and then in turn the wheels to spin and the car to move.
